Lako Bukia S/S12 London Fashion Week Day Two

Lako Bukia’s SS’12 collection showcased some highly structural pieces juxtaposed with more classically feminine, flowing chiffon and silk designs that were a strong feature of the show.

Particular attention was paid to detailing around the neck and shoulders, which gave the pieces a simple yet considered beauty; however the introduction of print may have been an error of judgement.  The chosen prints were garish and suffocated the architectural purity of the shapes, textures and cuts which were on display.

LONDON FASHION WEEK SS11: Lako Bukia “Sutari”

During Fashion Week, coming to a show early is as infrequent as shows starting on time. As we entered the venue for new designer Lako Bukia’s catwalk show, it was apparent that we weren’t the only ones eager to experience visionary. Poised on a white bench, combing her hair with her fingers, Janice Dickinson sat.

The show was comprised of sharp shoulders and tapered draping in a colour palette of shocking reds, creams and deep navy blues and greys. Each piece was beautifully created in sheer cottons that accentuated the female silhouette with classic rounded necklines along the collar bone. The female curve was emphasised by the bunched waist.

Apart from above knee dresses and the classic blouse, collection Surati presented us with ornamentally tailored trousers along with platform heels with thick black strapping.

This collection was one of the best Sketchbook had seen so far. Each piece was simple yet incredibly chic, sculpting the body through its own shape; a perfect accompaniment to the form of any fashion conscious and classy woman.
